What's with the English test requirement for immigration/permanent residence in Australia? That's like saying we will only take people from the USA or UK -- doesn't matter what a dumb-fuck you are, as long as you speak decent English. It's like we're back in the dumbass White Australia days.
As a result, many people (foreigners) who are busting their arses for a living in Australia, paying their taxes, contributing to society, adding to Australian growth, are denied permanent residence because their English is not up to scratch -- in itself an accident of where they were born. The irony is that their English, basic as it is, is probably of a better standard than those of bogan dole-bludgers (who the fuck are youse looking at?). I don't know about you, but I'd swap a hard-working non-English speaking contributor to society for a dole-bludging bogan any day.
So here's a fucking great idea for the idiots who run immigration policy: How about granting citizenship and/or permanent residency based on taxes paid, hours worked, productivity adding potential, or some other gauge of community contribution? Who gives a fuck if people can't speak English that well, at least they're trying, and they are certainly adding measurable value to society. Why don't you dickheads who came up with that piece of shit policy -- who are, incidentally, in small part being paid for by the taxes of these foreign workers -- try picking up a foreign language, then see if you can pass with the same standards that you've put on your stupid English test?
And don't even get me started on that moronic 'how well do you know the Australian culture' immigration test...
